Common Dialogue

Practice real-life conversations: restaurant, meeting a friend, doctor’s visit.

Dialogue 1: At a Restaurant

Waiter: السلام علیکم! کیا آرڈر لے سکتا ہوں؟ (Assalamu alaikum! Kya order le sakta hoon?) – Hello! Can I take your order?

Customer: جی، مجھے ایک پلیٹ چکن بریانی چاہیے۔ (Jee, mujhe ek plate chicken biryani chahiye.) – Yes, I want one plate of chicken biryani.

Waiter: کچھ اور؟ (Kuch aur?) – Anything else?

Customer: ایک گلاس لسی بھی دیجیے۔ (Ek glass lassi bhi deejiye.) – Also give a glass of lassi.

Waiter: بہت اچھا، پندرہ منٹ میں کھانا آجائے گا۔ (Bohat achha, pandrah minute mein khana aa jayega.) – Very good, food will arrive in 15 minutes.

(After eating)

Customer: بل لائیں، برائے مہربانی۔ (Bill laaen, barae meharbani.) – Bring the bill, please.

Waiter: پچاس روپے ہوئے۔ (Pachaas rupay hue.) – It’s 50 rupees.

Customer: یہ رہے ساٹھ روپے، باقی رکھیے۔ (Yeh rahe saatth rupay, baqi rakhiye.) – Here is 60 rupees, keep the change.

Dialogue 2: Meeting a Friend

Ali: السلام علیکم! آپ کیسے ہیں؟ (Assalamu alaikum! Aap kaise hain?)

Sara: وعلیکم السلام! میں ٹھیک ہوں، شکریہ۔ آپ سنائیے؟ (Wa alaikum assalam! Main theek hoon, shukriya. Aap sunaaiye?)

Ali: بہت اچھا۔ آج کل کیا کر رہے ہو؟ (Bohat achha. Aaj kal kya kar rahe ho?)

Sara: میں ایک نئی زبان سیکھ رہی ہوں۔ (Main ek nayi zaban seekh rahi hoon.) – I am learning a new language.

Ali: واہ! کون سی زبان؟ (Waah! Kaun si zaban?) – Wow! Which language?

Sara: جرمن۔ (German.)

Ali: بہت خوب! چلو کبھی ملتے ہیں۔ (Bohat khoob! Chalo kabhi milte hain.) – Great! Let’s meet sometime.

Sara: ان شاء اللہ، خدا حافظ۔ (In sha Allah, Khuda hafiz.)

Dialogue 3: At the Doctor’s Clinic

Doctor: آپ کا کیا مسئلہ ہے؟ (Aap ka kya masla hai?) – What is the problem?

Patient: مجھے بخار اور کھانسی ہے۔ (Mujhe bukhaar aur khaansi hai.) – I have a fever and cough.

Doctor: کتنی دیر سے؟ (Kitni der se?) – How long?

Patient: دو دن سے۔ (Do din se.) – For two days.

Doctor: اپنا منہ کھولیے اور “آہ” کہیے۔ (Apna munh kholiye aur “aah” kahiye.) – Open your mouth and say “aah”.

Patient: آہ۔ (Aah.)

Doctor: آپ کو وائرل انفیکشن ہے۔ یہ دوائی لیں اور آرام کریں۔ (Aap ko viral infection hai. Yeh dawai lein aur aaram karein.) – You have a viral infection. Take this medicine and rest.

Patient: شکریہ ڈاکٹر صاحب۔ (Shukriya Doctor sahib.) – Thank you, Doctor.

Role‑Play Practice

Try to recreate one of the above dialogues with a partner. Change the names, food items, or symptoms. Use vocabulary from previous days.

Practice scenario: You are at a shop. Ask for the price of an item, bargain, and buy it. Use numbers and polite expressions.
